Learn more about the Epidermal Laser Facial Peel.

The epidermal laser facial peel is another tool in our arsenal to fight aging by stimulating the lower levels of our skin.

This hi-tech and natural laser skin rejuvenation procedure utilizes state-of-the-art lasers to gently remove a precise amount (measured in microns!) of the dead layer of your epidermis (stratus cornium), along with its imperfections, discolorations, fine wrinkles, and roughness. At the same time, we also stimulate a faster cell cycle of the deeper live epithelium.

Currently, your epithelial renewal cycle is likely to have slowed down to around 35-40 days, but this amazing laser skin resurfacing treatment will naturally accelerate it to 3-5 days, as when you were a child! Facial peels restore your youth and make you feel refreshed.

Consequently, a veritable army of young, healthy and beautiful epithelial cells will march to the surface and push off the older damaged epithelium. You will experience this as a ‘flakey dry peel’ 3-5 days after the laser skin rejuvenation procedure as your older epidermis exfoliates and is completely replaced by a brand new epidermis – smooth, healthy and radiant skin as a result of your laser facial.

laser skin resurfacing will rejuvenate your skin

Best of all, the entire laser skin resurfacing procedure can be done on your lunch break, there is no down-time and your skin is numbed to ensure your comfort. Many patients (especially our on-camera Hollywood actors) who are particularly dedicated to having bright, vibrant and smooth skin undergo this laser facial treatment every month.

Should you wish to go even further, the synergy of combining this laser skin resurfacing with Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) and Physiological Regulating Medicine (PRM) produces truly spectacular results, removing deeper discolorations, wrinkles, and roughness, resulting in tightened and toned skin with smaller pores, all at a very reasonable price. Regularly treating yourself to this laser skin rejuvenation procedure is a fabulously effective way to enhance the radiant beauty and robust health of your skin for decades to come.

Q. How much does laser skin resurfacing cost?
A. Depending on how many areas are to be treated, face, neck, chest, or a combination of, the typical cost per laser skin resurfacing treatment is between $500 and $750.

Q. What does laser resurfacing do to my skin? How does it work?
A. The skin has a number of different layers. Simplified, the top layer is called the epidermis which is very thin, that’s what we see when we look in the mirror and it’s what people see while you’re walking down the street. So it makes sense that people are interested in processes to rejuvenate their skin. Underneath that is a much thicker piece of real estate called the dermis. The dermis is where all the structural integrity of the skin is. You have sweat glands down there and you have hair follicles down there and you have sebaceous glands that make the oils for the skin. The majority of that whole area is filled with the collagen matrix of the skin which comprises a good 95% of your entire skin.

That’s where the structural integrity of the skin lies. Collagen is the main connective tissue of the body. And underneath those two layers, you have the fat underneath the skin called the subcutaneous fat. That does become an issue later on in life because when you lose some of the fat underneath the skin, it changes the contours of your face and you may want to deal with that. Now, back to the top layer, the epidermis, the epidermis also has two layers. It has a thin layer which is filled with live epithelial cells and then it has a dead layer of epithelial cells.

The live cells are born at the bottom of that layer. They migrate to the top and they die and then the next cell comes up and pushes that one up and it dies. The next cell comes up and pushes that one up and it dies and round and round we go. Unfortunately, as we age, this process slows down. So you have this thick layer of dead cells called the stratum corneum. Now, both men and women have a stratum corneum. As guys we don’t really care about ours but women are relatively nuts about getting their stratum corneum off. Exfoliation, rubs, scrubs, lotions, potions, snake oils, whatever it takes, loofahs, whatever it takes to get that dead layer off because it makes your skin look dull.

As guys we know we’re dull so we don’t care. For those who want to do exfoliation there are lots of different ways to go about it but the best way to do exfoliation is natural. What can you do to naturally exfoliate without putting glycolic acids on or other substances that cause chemical exfoliation. Well, you could do something we call the epidermal laser facial peel which is a form of laser skin rejuvenation.

With laser skin resurfacing we very carefully take the dead layer of skin off. You don’t even feel it because it’s dead. But at the same time we’re doing that, we’re stimulating the stem cells of the epidermis to generate a whole new army of epithelial cells. Those cells come up in about three days and when they get to the top, they will push the old epithelium off. And underneath is a beautiful new epithelium that’s bright and brilliant and pretty darn gorgeous. To maintain a youthful glow it isn’t uncommon for people to come in once a month for our epidermal laser facial peel.
