I used to have discolored skin on my face with some areas lighter than others. I always covered it up with makeup but because of constant use of makeup, my skin started to age early. Bumps, large pores, fine lines, and a rougher surface..to name a few.
Going in to receive a laser treatment on my face was a tough decision to make. 1. I have never had one before; 2. You have no idea what to expect, and 3: You never know who you will have the privilege of having your skin treated by... but I figured: I either sit and watch my skin get old, or I take all my chances and go in, hoping for the best.
Well, it's been about a year since then, and my skin looks phenomenal!!! I couldn't believe my own eyes after the laser, and I kid you not - you literally DO NOT have to wear makeup whatsoever after these treatments. My skin looks porcelain clear and extremely soft, and has absolutely no blemishes...I no longer wear makeup, and in modern world men happen to admire that about women... I can't stop bragging about how fantastic Dr. Pien is and can't thank her and the entire staff enough for changing my life!!!
If I could point to one single thing that has helped my appearance, made me feel confident about my skin, and generated the kind of results and compliments that you normally only see on commercials, in magazines or in the really, really hopeful part of the back of your mind, it's the treatments I've received at American Medical Aesthetics.
The staff is so well-trained and are such experts, that you feel comfortable putting yourself in their hands immediately; they take the "scary" out of lasers because they explain everything in such great detail that you feel you could almost do the treatment on yourself. The value of the services FAR exceeds the cost. And the results? They're truly astounding. I know that it sounds ridiculous to say that getting a treatment for my skin was a life-changing thing, but that's what it was. I look in the mirror and don't see any of the things that once were an issue.
I've had a series of their SpectraLift&trade treatments, and now I hardly have to wear makeup, look ten years younger, and get carded when I walk into bars. I can't say enough good things about them. Please go!
I just finished receiving laser services here. I did the SpectraLift&trade and got a package with other services. The staff was fabulous. Well versed in the services they provide and caring about being sure all my questions were answered. The results are outstanding. I had red in my skin that if I didn't wear make-up people thought I was sunburned! Not anymore. I'm makeup free (accept for eye makeup ;-). The price was very reasonable for the services performed and this is what they do. Laser. Lots of different laser. If you are considering any kind of laser treatment, why not check out a place that specializes in laser!!
I have known these highly professional and classy practitioners since 2006. They are the real deal with laser in terms of finally getting rid of sun spots, uneven skin tone and overall care of your skin. They have the CP8 (SpectraLift&trade ) laser which is rare for any dermatologist to have. After having spent literally thousands elsewhere, the only place to go is AMA. The staff is fantastic - Tricia, Tracie, Michelle, Dr. Pien and Dr. Milgrom. I always feel like I accomplished something really big as people notice my skin and I have actually been stopped on the street as well as in line in markets to ask why my skin looks so great.....and I am 50 so that feels fantastico! Look no further...these people are the total real deal ...they also have hyperbaric oxygen, botox, juvederm and all the other goodies if you just want to go that route. Conveniently located and down to earth...you will love Dr. Alice Pien when you meet her....she is just so special as a person and a doc. Thanks and I am so glad you guys are in my life!
American Medical Aesthetics is the best laser results I have ever experienced. I had very sun damaged, blotchy, broken capillary skin. I have tried photo-facials, IPL, Genisis and micro-dermabrasion and only CP5 (SpectraLift&trade ) evened out my skin tone, reduced my pore size, removed all the broken capillaries, sun spots and over-all improved my skin greatly. I am 52 years old and look much younger due to Dr. Pien @ AMA. All the staff is exceptional, caring, informative and the facials are also the best I have ever had. I have sent my friends there and they are equally pleased. I cannot recommend AMA enough. It is the best my skin has looked in many years.

Ok, so I usually don't take the time to write reviews, but I must do so this time. I've had acne scarring for over a decade now. I have gone to the best plastic surgeons and dermatologists in LA and San Diego. None of them made me feel comfortable the way Asher and Dr. Pien did at AMA. From the moment I walked in, I felt at ease. Asher explained everything to me in detail and he was patient with me. I did not feel like I was being rushed into anything. I truly felt educated about the procedure and I had no reservations. I am an actress so my face is of the utmost importance to me. I knew he was sincere. Plus, I was paying a fraction of the cost other doctors had quoted me for the same procedure. I knew he believed in his product.
Now, to the day of the procedure. From the moment I walked in, they made me feel like a queen. Like there was no one else in the world that was as important as me! Tracy, who is the medical assistant, offered me medicine for my anxiety and the pain. I only took tylenol and also a valium for my nerves. I listened to music in a room with a water fall and I laid on a massage bed until the numbing cream kicked in. Once they were ready, Dr. Pien explained what she was going to do every step of the way. Who does that these days? All doctors are out to make money. Not her. I felt that she cared about me the way my mother would. She engaged me in conversation throughout the treatment and told me what to expect every second. I have never, ever in my entire life came across a doctor like her (and my brother is a doctor!). Never. I have a deeply seated respect for her not just as a doctor, but as a human being who genuinely wants to help others. Her knowledge and expertise in unmatched.
Once the treatment was over, I was sent to the oxygen chamber (i think that's what it's called) and I fell asleep! Tracy and Rebecca were constantly checking on me though. They were so nice and friendly. It was like have two of my girlfriends there for support. I will say the treatment was a bit uncomfortable, however, I asked her to be more aggressive in certain areas so I expected that.
All in all, I whole heartedly recommend AMA to anyone who wants first class service. I really felt like a queen walking out of there and I certainly could not have asked for a better medical staff to take care of me. I will definitely be going back for all my procedures from now on.
In terms of results, I am not sure as I just had it done on Thursday and I'm still recovering. I am confident that Dr. Pien has worked her magic though. I will keep everyone posted!

Acne Problems and Scarring Reviews
A good friend of mine referred me to this medical practice. I had been considering doing something to improve my skin. I'm in my late 20s and starting to see some of the effects of all those years in the sun (sun spots, pigmentation, discoloration). In addition, I have suffered for years with cystic acne and as a result had some pitted scarring. I finally decided to bite the bullet and make an appt. The space was beautiful, everyone was so friendly, and the consultation was very thorough and informative (and free!). I subsequently had several laser treatments and have had fantastic results. I've never had skin that I felt confident going out without makeup on, and now I do. I had very enlarged pores which made me self-conscious. My skin is smoother, my scarring has greatly reduced, and my overall tone and color of my skin is much improved and more youthful. I am so happy I took her advice and came here for treatment. They are wonderful!

I've had terrible acne and scarring for 25 years. I've tried just about everything to get rid of it. Nothing worked and I hated my terrible skin. AMA's amazing Photo Dynamic Therapy, with ALA and combined with 3 lasers has cleared up my face and healed my scarring. While not baby smooth yet, its the best I have looked in decades. I feel great and I am very greatful.

I have been living with severe cystic acne scarring for about 20 years. I had tried so many treatments and very little results. I gave up and resigned myself that I just had to get used to having a scarred face. Then to make things worse, suddenly at 35 years old, my cystic acne came back worse than ever! It was horrible, a real nightmare. This time however, I was lucky, because a colleague at work told me about the amazing results he had with his acne scars at AMA skincare. Here is my summary:
- The consultation was amazing. I learned more about my condition in one hour than the previous 20 years.
- They have a huge array of lasers. Many more than the 4 other big clinics I went to.
- The doctor customized a treatment protocol for me, that included 6 different lasers, Hyperbaric oxygen therapy, collagen induction therapy, and physiological medicine with acupuncture.
- I had 4 treatments, one every 4 weeks. They numbed my face, so that I barely felt the treatments.
- Recovery time was about 2-3 days of looking a bit raw followed by 2-3 days of peeling. I was never in any discomfort.
- With every treatment I literally saw my skin "morph" into young healthy skin again. It was weird and wonderful to see my skin change from the inside-out.
The staff are friendly and very caring, and the two doctors who own the clinic are world class experts. Also, Dr. Alice Pien has the most gentle hands and a healing touch.
Bottom line: Not only did they make my active cystic acne disappear, my old horrible scars are 90% gone! for the first time in 20 years, I actually like looking at my face in the mirror, and I love the way my new healthy skin feels.
Thanks to American Medical Aesthetics my skin has never looked better. I have struggled with acne and old acne scars for years. They completely got rid of both! I can't believe that I dont have to wear make-up anymore!

Collagen Induction Therapy Reviews
Look. I have been EVERYWHERE in this city... I'm a skin care junkie and will only go to the highest quality spas and/or anything to do with the face... it's your face! It's delicate and it should only be placed in the best hands. I was sooo impressed with American Medical Aesthetics... the staff is absolutely amazing and thorough and really care about helping you obtain the result you are searching for. But beyond that, I had Collagen Induction Therapy(CIT) with them and the thoroughness and detail and attention I received while I was in the process of having this done to me was absolutely impeccable and the best treatment I've had in all the years I've gone to "four star spas and skin centers". I've only had one treatment of the three I have purchased and can already see the improvement in my skin texture!! If you're looking for results and amazing service, look no further than American Medical Aesthetics!!!
Stretch-marks Removal Reviews
First of all just want to say that Dr. Pien is amazing! I have been a patient at AMA for a little over 2 years and have gotten amazing results. I live in AZ. and fly out to CA. because I've tried many different places in AZ. and have not had any success. I've been getting treatments on my face for dark spots and melasma, and also for stretch marks on my stomach and lower back. I'm disappointed that I waited so long to get treatment done because I hated the way they looked and just assumed I would have to live with them. The end results are better than I'd hoped for, my skin is clear and my stretch marks are virtually invisible, I would highly recommend this place! The results speak for themselves. I've had stretch marks ever since puberty and they are really embarrassing specially because they're on my arms and lower back. I couldn't wear sleeve less tops or dress coz i have to hide them. I've wasted so much time and money on soo many different creams that even work at all. Its sad that i didn't find this place right away. My treatment consisted of 3 laser and collagen induction therapy (CIT) in between and i have to say that after just the first laser and CIT i already saw dramatic results!! My stretch marks faded so much that Dr Pien already had a hard time seeing them on my second treatment!
The whole staff is very accommodating and very nice. They are all knowledgable in what they do. Dr Milgrom and Dr Pien really take time to explain the whole procedure and answer any questions. They all really pamper u and will make u feel comfortable from the time u walk in.
Their services are very effective because they have a whole lot of different lasers (unlike other places, and yes ive done my research) because as Dr Milgrom explained, there are specific lasers that ur skin needs depending on its condition. They're also the only place i found that combine Laser and Collagen Induction therapy. Their prices are very competitive and well worth it.
I am very happy i found this place and would definitely recommend it to everyone!
Dr. Milgrom and his staff are extremely knowledgeable about their procedures and are able to offer a variety of options to customize the experience.
After giving birth to my second child I had several stretch marks across my abdomen and sides. After the first laser treatment I was able to see results. I have had a total of 3 treatments and my stretch marks are practically non-existent. My husband has to look extremely close to see anything. I would strongly recommend this treatment to any mother out there who desires to regain her pre-pregnant body.

Melasma and Age Spots Reviews
I have nothing but outstanding comments for AMA skincare. They truly care for the patient and do what is best. I am Asian and have age spots. Any Asian knows, we have stubborn skin and these spots are difficult to remove. I have been to several dermatologists all to no avail. I was referred to AMA by a friend and was skeptical, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to check it out. I was sold within minutes. I had my first treatment a couple of days later. Everyone (including the receptionist) is so knowledgeable and friendly. They made sure I knew what to expect and how to care for my skin. A week later, I could see the spots were fading and I only had one treatment! It is worth every penny I spent and then some and I normally can't afford luxuries such as this, but they are quite reasonable and have low interest payment plans.

The laser facial treatments absolutely exceeded my expectations. I had NO idea that my sun-damaged skin could ever look that good again. I get comments almost daily about how great my skin looks. The procedure, the follow up, and the results were all first rate. I wouldn't hesitate recommending American Medical Aesthetics to anyone.
