Stretch Marks are an unsightly form of scarring formed by too much stress being put on the dermis. Causes range from growth during puberty, pregnancy, rapid weight gain, some skin conditions, as well as a variety of other circumstances that could stress out your skin. The ‘striae’ (the scientific name for stretch marks) appear first as red or purplish lines, usually running in the same direction on an area of your body, and typically will fade gradually to white or silvery marks.
